Episode 28 Remembering 9.11

Today was a hard day for a lot of people for many different reasons. My thoughts go out to everyone who has lost someone because of those horrible events on sept. 11 2001.

Normal Podcast:

Amanda’s Wedding was yesterday. The wedding was beautiful and the weather was perfect. We had a couple of days of a preceding stress and planning but it all worked out perfectly.

Sticks & Strings:

Jordan has not seen any action this week. The traveling woman is going great, I believe it is going to be my vacation knitting. I figured Traveling woman is appropriate.

I am LOVING the Beekeeper’s quilt. I have 4 hexipuffs completed

Arrange the quilt on a tabletop so it is how you want it to look. Once you have it prefect stack each row and sew each row together with a 1/4 inch seam allowance. iron has we have with each other step. Now sew each row together with a 1/4 seam allowance again. and IRON…you now have a completed QUILT TOP.

Food For Thought:

Apple-Cranberry Toasted Bread Pudding

  • 4 slices sturdy white bread*, crusts removed and bread toasted
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup  thawed frozen apple juice concentrate
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup diced fresh apples, peeled or not
  • 1/4 cup fresh or frozen cranberries;
  • whipped cream  to garnish

1) Preheat the oven to 325°F. Use 1 tablespoon of the butter to grease a small (1-quart) casserole, an 8″ round pan, or four 8 to 10-ounce ramekins;

2) Tear the toasted bread into small cubes, and place it in a mixing bowl.

3) Heat the remaining 2 tablespoons butter with the milk until the butter melts, and pour over the bread. Soak for 10 minutes.

4) Beat together the eggs, apple Juice, cinnamon, sugar, and salt.

5) Stir in the diced apples and cranberries. Pour into the prepared dishes.

6) Bake the pudding(s) until golden brown and set, about 30 to 40 minutes (less for individual pans).

7) Remove from the oven and serve warm with whipped cream
