Episode 29 Miss me?

I am so sorry for the delay in the podcast. We had an awesome vacation!

We went to Williamsburg and the weather was great. Only 1 day did it rain and it happen to be our 1st full day there. We went to Busch Gardens. And we ate our last meal in Williamsburg at the King’s Arm Tavern. So GOOD! We also went to Washington DC for a day but it rain the whole day there too but we did go to the Washington DC as well for 1 night.

Sticks & Strings:

Traveling Woman Shawl. LOVE IT! but I had a lot of trouble with Chart A. Frogged it 4 different times while on vacation. I couldn’t figure out the Slk2p which is a double decease.

Working ont he hexipuffs! I signed up for a hexipuff swap which is very cool plus I signed up for a swap hosted by the one skein project.

That should cover it:

You have 80% of your quilt top complete; Congrats!!

You are now going to cut your border fabric… you will need to make strips of fabric which are 4inch wide. I fold my fabric in half to cut these because it is easier. (fold so selvedge edge together)

and here its two video on how to attach the border.

Food for Thought:

Its Apple Season, One of my favorite times of year!

Sauteed Apples with Thyme

  • 3 McIntosh apples, or Golden Delicious apples (or a mix of both)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, leaves
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
  • Coarse salt and ground pepper

Directions

  1. Core apples. Cut each apple into 8 wedges; halve wedges crosswise.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add apples and 1 teaspoon each fresh thyme leaves and grated lemon zest; season with coarse salt and ground pepper. Cook, tossing occasionally, until apples are just tender when pierced with the tip of a paring knife, 3 to 5 minutes.
